Cub Scouts help honor our veterans

Saturday afternoon the Cub Scouts turned out at the cemetery to help the local VFW post place flags on the veterans graves.  Spreading out with lists and flags, the scouts soon learned to spot the grave markers of those who had served our country.  Many times we paused, to place the flags, and to read the markers.  From Korea to the current conflicts in the Middle East, perhaps even earlier, Gibsonville has sent it's finest to fight.  We thank you for our freedom and the ultimate price you paid.

Many scouts came with their families, together paying respect.

The VFW members enjoyed the time with the scouts and appreciated the help preparing for the annual Memorial Day service.

Proud to be in the Boy Scouts of America
Of course, if you give a boy a flag...

........you can be sure he's going to wave it!
